This story tells very clearly of the attempts to "out" hypocritical people who harrass and pass laws against people performing the same activities they themselves engage in. In my mind, it is not a strong argument against hiring gays, but is a strong argument against the homophobia that prevents people from safely talking about those they love.
This story shows why it's good policy not to let gays work in sensitive jobs or in the military. They are subject to blackmail or vicious "outings" by other gays for ideological reasons. The FBI has known this for decades.
A close look at the power of blogs to force mainstream media to cover stories they would not have reported on in the past.
Now that Senator Craig has been encouraged by his fellow Republicans that he should try to beat the rap despite having pleaded guilty to a non- consentual homosexual encounter, we may more fully understand why a we need someone like Mike Rogers to keep alert, keep on the tails of the powerful, arrogant, and dishonest violators of common decency, and reveal the hypocricy of outspoken, homophobic homosexuals in the Congress, whether Republican or Democrat.
When issues are politicized, sometimes the ones hurt most are the community. This article makes a good job of presenting the various points of view, including Democrats who disagree with Rogers.
