This piece is excellent, and fully redeems the short piece from Foreign Policy which was reviewed on NewsTrust earlier this week. This is well sourced and the analysis is thoroughly thought out and eloquently expressed. Mark Perry did a fabulous job with this interview.

I can't help but wonder why Perry's previous article was so lacking--he is obviously an extremely knowledgeable and eloquent person and this interview about the same topic was nuanced and convincing. I 'm so glad this interview was posted to NewTrust!

That it has taken so long for the US military to point out the obvious - - that Israeli oppression of teh Palestinians compromises vital US intererests in the Middle East - - is perhaps the most interesting aspect of this matter.

US leaders should bear in mind that the destruction of the German Empire was the direct result of German efforts to "protect" the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the strucutrally-flawed ally next door. Israel needs heavy pressure from the US to get out of the West Bank (and the Golan Heights), for Israel's own sake.
