The Nation (ISSN 0027-8378) is a U.S. periodical devoted to politics and culture, self-described as "the flagship of the left." [1] The magazine is published weekly, except for the second week in January, and biweekly the third week of July through the second week of September. Founded on July 6, 1865 as a classical liberal publication, it is one of the oldest continuously published magazines in the United States.
