But if you’re white (or white enough) and “look the part”, wow, you can get away with…almost anything because the popo is obsessed with beating people down on the other side of town.
NewsTrust Rating: 2.4 average - 6 Reviews » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

Jack & Jill Politics - By Jack Turner - Sep. 06 (Opinion) - Van Jones was one of the good guys. A really, really good guy. He used his education and his passion to combat police brutality and the massive, wasteful incarceration of so many of this nation’s young, brown people. Having fought in the trenches for so long, he saw an opportunity to build hope and jobs and tangible communities as the world responds to the climate crisis. He connected the dots and inspired action and had a vision. He was the rare outsider who got a chance to move inside, and move he did.
NewsTrust Rating: 4.3 average - 5 Reviews » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

Still there are hundreds of Obamas who are working as activists, community organizers, lawyers who go unrecognized while any rapper or athlete who gets in trouble with the law gets a media maelstorm.
NewsTrust Rating: 3.2 average (not enough reviews) - See Review » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

AG Eric Holder - We are a ‘ nation of cowards’ when it comes to race

Jack & Jill Politics - By Rikyrah - Feb. 20 (Comment) - Holder told the truth during his speech. It was thoughtful, smart, historical, honest and contemplative. Of course, it was too deep for some folks to handle, so they ignore a 16 and a half minute speech and its content AND CONTEXT, and focus on one phrase uttered within the first MINUTE of the speech. You know what this reminds me of: Then Senator Obama’s speech in Hampton, Virginia in October 2007, when the basics of an Urban Policy were given out, and the only thing the ‘ media’ could point out was the phrase ‘ quiet riot’. Choosing ‘points’ which they can exploit, twist and bend, to get off the MAIN point of a speech of depth, substance and meaning.
NewsTrust Rating: 4.0 average (not enough reviews) - See Review » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer
