The method sounds hopeful if not promising. The practicality of lensing sunlight to 10 million watts per square centimeter seems like the crux.

This is primarily a local interest story, but uses facts from around the United States to help inform the reader. Nichols does a good job of allowing the reader to come to decision while providing an article that is fun to read.

In addition to my agreement with the other reviews I would add that the author of this article manages to avoid the accusatory language typically used to state the same facts. Those who might be sitting on the fence regarding the point of this article might find it a little more palatable.

This article is an opinion filled with a lot of implications, but no substance. Better journalism on the same topics would be found in the wikipedia articles and the background Talk Pages for European Union and United States of America.
