It's good journalism because it takes on a less-talked about subject and confronts a reality of our modern times. It effectively explains why we elect politicians who lie to us and let us down. In this hurly-burly, new-in-60 seconds-or-less society, Americans simply don't have time for facts.
Yes. It underscores the dangerous direction the country is headed toward that the Supreme Court validated with its backwards Citizen United Ruling. When the rich and conservative can buy elections and now control independent think tanks, true democracy is at stake. I completely agree with the chairman of the Cato board's comment: "This is an effort by the Kochs to turn the Cato Institute into some sort of auxiliary for the G.O.P."
