Member (since April 2009)I joined NewsTrust because I believe there is a need for media that provides citizens with enough accurate, contextual, fair and balanced information. There is a need for a journalism of verification rather than assertion—meaning that I believe in the importance of putting a higher premium on accuracy than on speed or sensation. My career experience and coursework have provided me with good communication skills and practical knowledge on the nature of international relations and media studies, in both English and Spanish. Thanks to my jobs and internship experiences as a contributing writer, senior staff writer, editor, editor-in-chief, assistant producer and producer for various media outlets, I now see quality journalism as a combination of resources and values.
