The two abortion procedures that are commonly used, medical and chemical, are very cheap, simply because of their relative ease to perform. I don't think there should be that much of a fight over this issue. The author disagrees and it seems as if she would be willing to take down all of the potential bills over the abortion issue.
In a study of the families of homosexuals, it is found that the kids turn out completely healthy. Unsurprisingly the children of gay and lesbian parents tend to favor the values of the gay and lesbian communities. Children growing up with homosexual parents have an eye towards equality and are not as affected by the gender roles of society.
This is a very good article about something that everyone suspects but does not have enough data on. The studies were provided in a lucid and unbiased manner.
This is a pretty good review of Michael Specter's new book Denialism. There's not much I would change about this review. The book sounds interesting.
This article is typical of writing about research. Like a lot of reporting about new research it leaves out important surrounding contextual information about the debate. Who are this researchers peers? What kind of questions did they have about his research? Are his methods sound? Also there is no discussion on how this new information should affect our actions. This is horrible journalism. The story is factual but leaves out key facts that would provide a different conclusion to the reader. As an example of this, on the second page it states that the winter of 2006/07 delivered the deepest snow cover to the Northern Hemisphere since 1966 and the coldest temperatures since 2001.
