This is an excellent article. Well written and thoroughly researched. President Bush is not presented in a positive light and it appears he engaged in felonious criminal activity with the help of his future AG. Bush's remark that he decides what the law is for the executive branch mirrors his rationale for signing statements.
The article paints a very positive picture of Gen. Petraeus as a talented commander with superior tactical and strategic skills. His promotion by the White House was quite predictable. Much like Gen. Westmoreland in Vietnam, Petraeus' biggest asset was being a "yes" man to the administration. This is a well written article that highlights the increasing amount of distortion in the current presidential campaign. There is a significant difference between beginning a 40B pipeline, or getting agreements to build a 40B pipeline and initiating a process that could possibly lead to a pipeline seven years from now.

Corruption in Iraq is underreported in mainstream media but it's really just a symptom of the absolute lack of planning at every level prior to and after the invasion of Ira.
I used to believe the conventional wisdom that John McCain was a political maverick who was willing to compromise and negotiate with Democrats. That is certainly no longer the case.
