Schadenfreude: pleasure taken from observing the misery of another. article is essentially that; worth reading if you want some, otherwise not so much.
a long-form article with many names, places, facts, etc. about a specific banking regulating agency and its' relationship over ~1998-2006 with Countrywide. Well researched and reported.
an incredibly important story - involving long-term catastrophic changes to our ecosystem and planet. the only drawback to this story is that the opposing viewpoint isn't well presented - it's quickly presented and then rapidly dismissed. I believe the article that it can be quickly dismissed because the physics/chemistry are so simple, but I'd prefer that deniers be dealt with more directly... a must read.
lots of unsupported assertions that conflict with the 90% majority opinion. if you're going to disagree with "common knowledge", a single source and no data, papers, or references to support for your argument is poor journalism. also, despite disagreeing with the consensus, the story ends on a note that slightly conflicts with its' own point.
this isn't so much a news story as an in-depth profile of Michelle Obama, as a person. Her and Barack's history, their life together, and a very good idea of who she is and what type of person she is come out clearly in this story.
good article describing the viewpoint of the author and many climate scientists, and the pitfalls with large-scale politicized studies. He claims and supports his claims that far from being "politicized" and thus made more radical by the political processes, these large scale papers end up dramatically watered down. Worth reading.
not a very well explained story. lots of statements without much backup, a number of statistics and numbers without enough background to make them really meaningful.
a good story about Boston changing its way of dealing with the homelessness population, highlighting savings and also possible difficulties. A normal news story, not a feature or a magazine-length article, so somewhat info limited, but overall pretty good.
a pretty good review of why the major muni wi-fi projects are failing, and what will likely happen in the future.
not a super long story, but does overall cover the issue. cites a number of facts, nearly all publicly available.

this isn't really journalism, as much as an opinion piece. it's left-leaning, but doesn't include much in context, back story, or sourcing.
