I wouldn't call this article "comment." It strikes me as more "news analysis." But it does seem to make a fairly obvious point--that many people see the need for regulation as a result of the problems in the housing industry.

When Republican Senator Charles Grassley and Democratic Senator Max Baucus join forces to cancel a $4 to $6 billion a year tax loophole the American electorate ought to pay attention. The article indicates who will fight to keep the loophole in place. It will be interesting to see who wins this struggle.

The significance of the headline is not fully explored. When the surge was announced Iraqi troops were supposed to be play a major role in the pacification of Baghdad. If the Iraqi troops are not ready, and are not being better trained, does the US have an exit strategy?
