I'm the local editor for the Baltimore pilot of NewsTrust, and I update the site daily and manage relationships with our media partners. I've been a journalist for nearly a decade, and I spent about half of that time at The Baltimore Sun. I began by working as a print editor, then moved over to the web, serving as breaking news director. It was online that I found new inspiration, and in my last role at The Sun, I led the paper's outreach strategy as director of audience engagement. I spent 2010 working in Malaysia for a new wireless company, driven by the goal to offer ubiquitous, affordable online access.
This is an interesting time for journalism, and I believe Baltimore is a microcosm of what's happening globally. I'm inspired by my work at NewsTrust as a way to encourage good conversation about the news and thrilled to be having that discussion about Baltimore, a city I love.
