With the wiki leaks putting out more information about the detained at Guantanamo Bay its interesting to hear about a Baltimore native. The amount of detail is the best part of this article. It tells me everything I need to know and want to know about this prisoner without having to dig through the wiki leaks site. The only bad part in this kind of thing is which to believe, wiki leaks or the detainee file... You be the judge.
This is a very interesting story. Everyone knows about the infamous horse painting in the caves, and for someone to do a documentary on it is quite compelling. I really liked that this article told the readers some of the conditions he had to do when shooting the documentary.
Can this even be considered journalism? It's all here say of what could happen. Rumors about Mfume running, and really it was a waste of time.
This piece has a whole lot of information about Libya and what is going to happen. Though it is for a UK paper and talks more about Cameron and Sarkozy it can no doubt be viewed as foreshadowing because the US will be involved sooner or later. If I am not mistaken this is an opinion article, and this is clear but it tells a lot of what is going on. It offered me a surplus of knowledge to what is going on in Libya, but I feel left in the dark still. This is no doubt because of my ignorance in politics and world politics. Nonetheless, this told the reader a lot about this "mission creep."
I truly enjoyed reading this article about this man William Schaefer. I cannot deny the fact that I am not very savvy when it comes to politics and I really had no idea who this man was, but through this article I am able to learn. All of the perks of Baltimore I enjoy because of this mans doings. I would of very much like to be raised in this era to understand him more. To see where he started and then look at his finished product. Nonetheless, I can't but I can enjoy what he has brought to the eclectic city that is Baltimore. No matter what you thought of him, you cannot deny the fact that this man loved his city.
I wish there was more print to read about this. In a world where gay rights is a very relevant topic it is nice to see a major company do this for there employee's. But again, I want to know more about this video, but then again I could learn more from watching the video. Apple is a huge company and nearly everyone on the planet knows about it. Whether you are a microsoft person or an apple person, you have to respect this.
I personally enjoyed the story, however, in terms of journalism I am slightly confused why Roland Buerk didn't write the article since all of the information this author is getting is from him. Nonetheless, this is great news to hear about Japan. With the 25 year nightmare of Chernobyl around the corner no one wants to see it happen again. It is going to be a very long 9 months in Japan.
I feel it is great journalism. With everything that is happening in Japan with their nuclear reactors it is an interesting look at the awful scar on the planet. The title says it all. Almost 25 years the nightmare of Chernobyl still haunts the world, and if the reactors overload in Japan... Well that will result in a open wound on Earth.
I'm glad I read this. I haven't been following up too much with the nuclear crisis in Japan and I really hate to see that it isn't getting better. This really told us what is going on over there even though its not something the public wants to see.
I really enjoyed this article. I have asked myself the question, "why is Detroit so bad? What happened to that booming industrial city?" Though the author plans to write an entire book on these questions I was to gain a little understanding on what is happening in Detroit. Take this as a little prologue to this gentlemen's future book.
I like the article all in all because of the facts it gives me, but the way it is written is horrid. It's more like bullets for a lecture rather than an actual article. So in terms of journalism the facts are great, but the written aspect is terrible.
I was very much surprised by this article. The growing population of illegal immigrants seems to be at an all time high in America at this time. Martha's Vineyard however seems to be a place that wouldn't be able to survive without its thousands of illegal immigrants. The questions that I are raised in my view is that if the problem (if you wish to call it that) of illegal immigration is so well known in the Vineyard why is it only coming to light when the president comes? People only seem to get upset when the immigrants mess up in some way, thus showing when the 20 year-old girl died in the car accident. However, when word came that the girl was traveling at a high speed and the immigrant was traveling at a low speed people ... More »
