Member (since June 2008)I have enjoyed a wealth of expiriences from being a war planner, a IRS Revenue Officer, an accountant, the production manager for the world's largest weekly religious newspaper, and back to accounting. Through it all I have been a news junkie. I still maintain many of the relationships in the news business, and look forward to sharing what insight I can as well as some of the critical views I have never hidden, while in my old age I tend to temper my honesty with a bit of mercy and compassion.

If you're a policy wonk, this is a good article, for the average reader, I"m pretty sure their eyes would glaze over.

As someone who had a Top Secret Clearance with access, I often opined that the majority of classified material was classified not to keep our enemies from knowing, but to keep the American people from knowing. After Nixon, there was a major move to declassify all material after a set period of years unless specificly exempted, that was reversed under GWB in the aftermath of his historic security failure on 9/11. I hope this judge follows Judge Sirica's example and requires the ... More »
Investigative journalism by its very nature will anger when it does not agree with the reader;s perception, I can see where these reviews will challenge both sides but it is hard to argue with the facts when they are presented,
My biggest question was the millions he gave in appreciated stock to a non profit that he alone controls. There was a deliberate attempt to name the charity the same as a valid charitable organization. The real charity, Tyler Foundation, actually does good works. Mitt's self directed charity, Tyler Foundation of Boston MA has no record of ever having done anything that is publicly available.
NBC has failed to learn from any of its prior poor performances in previous telecasts. People will watch the tape delay, but more would be watching if they double played it, first when it actually happens then again during prime time. They are lieing when they claim all venues are being live cast online without saying unless you have paid an exobanant fee to a cable or satelite company you can't watch.
not up to their normal standards, it lacks the normal facts and simply gives a rating without saying what the real numbers are, or their interviews with subject of the rating. I rate their review false, because they gave no facts.
Except for the bare naked quote from an unvetted op-ed piece, which I am sure was placed for "balance", an ecellent report.
While for-profits and non-profits were required to fully fund their unfunded pension requirements, beginning in the 1970s, city an state governments lobbied had to be exempt from this requirement. To list pension costs as a current expense instead of an unfunded prior obligation ignores the failure of all previous administrations to fully include payroll costs in their budget.
I have little sympathy for any derivative trader, since they were at the base of the economic collapse under Bush.

Texas, Justice Dept. Square Off Over Voter ID Law As Part of Dispute That Could Decide 2012 Election
After George bush spent $40 million to uncover voter fraud, they found only 86 cases of voter fraud. These laws are a solution in search of a problem. The larger problem is the secrecy surrounding the code on leased not purchased voting machines and their vulnerability to hacking.

With the exception of Judge Sirica, I know of no other case where the state had to prove that the material they claimed met the definition required to classify material to the level the government claimed and deemed it unworthy of classification.. And you are very right about the ... More »
