In my opinion, because of its importance, this is VERY good journalism. Bigger than terrorism is the importance of protecting the Constitution and Bill of Rights which has been so abused in recent years by the "expansion of presidential powers". Mr. Parry shows us admirably how weak and lacking in courage the Democratic Party really is. They do not have the backbone to challenge Mr. Bush and his violation of FISA. Instead, a month's vacation was more important and those of us who ... More »

There is much to be said for Jonah Goldberg's article which is well written and provocative. His suggestion is a good one. Something has to be done to shake the masses out of their indifferences. Perhaps his idea is the right one.
This is NOT good journalism in my opinion. This counyry is in a very critical state and the next election is all importortant. We absolutely do not need the nonsense in this article. It is the responsibility of reporters to inform citizens as to the POLITICAL differences between the different campaigners so that when the time comes we'll have a clear understanding of how each candidate intends to run the country. Who the heck cares about how much a hair cut cost or about the ... More »
This article certainly shows the predicament of Republicans running for relection next year - particularly those who have been so loyal to the President in the past. They have good reason to be in such a quandary and it grows deeper as Mr. Bush ignores and vetoes every suggestion given to him. The article is also very hopeful for Democrats who are worrying about filling both Houses in the next election.
There was not enough information in this article to show the true gravity of this situation. Once again the White House is violating the Constitution by not passing on to Congress the correct information they require. This shows a total disregard for the laws of the land. Mr. Bush is NOT the king of our country. And if he and his cohorts studied the Constitution, which was written carefully to avoid such situations, there would be no further breaches of the law. Presuming, of course, ... More »
This is good journalism because the truth is finally down in black and white, showing us the normal misleading policies of this Bush Administration. Do they really think that the opublic is so stupid? The average educated American is well aware of the lies and, above all, the fears our beloved President instills into the country. There is only one thing to fear and that is the Bush Administration itself.....or should I call it the Cheney Administration?
This article is certainly informative. If nothing else it shows that even with these different proposals there still is no proper solution to this problem. Through interviews with "Illegal" immigrants, and legal ones, the author does how us the plight of these people.
Of all the articles read so far, this one goes into much more detail about this last proposal. One wonders how on earth these people could afford the $5,000 fee. It also points out the difficulties the workers would have in applying for long term Z visas. No provisions are made for them to be given lessons in these subjects so that they can become proficient. And as for the heads of households being required to return to their country before getting a green card, this is the height of idiocy.
This article is positively exciting! I would love to be French, living there and experiencing things to come and enjoying President Sarkozy's outlook on the future of France which, hopefully, will materialize. The new president is a no-nonsense and courageous man. The variety of people he is bringing into his government are an inspiration. It will be even more exciting to see how many women he brings in and who they are. To appoint Bernard Kouchner as Foreign Minister was a stroke of ... More »
I found this uninspiring. There really was nothing new in this article which seemed to me to be written by someone bored to death!
A most informative story and really well witten. Mr. Gauthier-Villars is to be complimented on his journalism. From my personal point of view, as a mere reader wanting to understand and appreciate what is happening in the world, this is the type of writing I am always looking for and rarely find.
This certainly is good journalism which gives us detailed information as to what is going on in newsapaper field. The author gives us solid reasons why we, the general public, should also worry if Murdoch takes over the Wall Street Journal and not only the nation's newsrooms.
Because I am totally unfamliar with the history or politics of Turkey, I found this article to be well written and most interesting. So interesting, in fact, that I want to learn more. Well worth reading!
This article is truly informative and, for those people interested in the working of our government, it is well worth reading.
Of all the articles I have so far read on the French election this is by far the best one. The article should be read by anyone interested in knowing about the front runners, present -day problems in France and how the top three would handle these situations. This is a far cry from the elections which took place years ago when I lived in France and when no one seemed to care one way or the other what the outcome might be.
This is an interesting story. One by one we are seeing the"high and mighty" who brought us in to the disasterous war in Iraq fall like a house of cards. I frankly hope he is fired.
This is an interesting story of the life of a journalist in Iraq. He describes well the terrors he had to live through and the effect it had on both him and his wife. One is so anxious to hear the story they are reporting that we forget the dangerous life journalists live in order to get this particular story. I admire their courage and bow to heir bravery.
A terrifying story particularly if you are 84 years old, like me, with no health insurance. However, never, never will I purchase same. Look at how those leeches are still ignoring so many "katrina" victims. Who could trust any of them? For my part, I will continue with my positive outlook on life and I recomment this to everyone over the age of 65.....younger also.
This is excellent journalism, and not because almost everything I have recently thought about the present Democratic party comes into it, but because it puts into ecellent language the facts. I could never have worded it as well. I had been feeling depressed because all my hopes for total changes seemed to have fallen short. Democrats are too whimpy and as the writers state "investigative oversight...has to be matched with more garden variety oversight of programs". We MUST DEMAND ... More »
This is a well-written, horrifying story. Are the nation and Congress going to sleep their way through this also? Instead of poliferation we should be concentrating on the removal of ALL nuclear weapons in EVERY country and this includes the United States. To insist on this would truly prove that we are the greatest nation.
For anyone interested in the truth and in justice, this is good journalism. The majority of people in this country are too jaded to spend time reading the volumes of books on corruption in the White House. How else can they know what is truly going on unless they do so by reading the newspapers/
This certainly is a good and historical story which everyone in the country should read and digest. There is more to come out in the future and until it does, this a great piece of literature and truth.
I'm as sick of these Coulter articles etc. as I am of Coulter herself. There are so many more informative and interesting articles to write about. Who really cares?
This was an interesting story although some of the results were puzzling. When the majority of the population feel that the war in Iraq was a mistake and 6 out of 10 want the troops home within 12 months, but, that a majority disapprove of legislation to cut off funds for troop increases, is perplexing. I would love to have known what this greater number of people felt would be gained by doing so.
This is excellent journalism. It gives you the real facts, the full story and much to contemplate. I strongly reommend this story because it shows that the world is changing and so is the NEWS.
This article, in my opinion, did not give due credit to Molly Ivins. She deserves better. It is through her incredible sense of humor that many of us woke up to the truth about "Shrub"
This is excellent and is exactly what we need to know. Many of us already know that CIA abductions and torture is common- place. It is outrageous and scandalous and MUST be brought to public attention and stoppesd.
