I am founder and director of Spot.us, a nonprofit open source project to pioneer “community funded reporting.” I am also a board member and contributing editor at NewsTrust. As a writer, I have written for Wired, Columbia Journalism Review and the New York Times, among other publications I am an alumni of the multi-media journalism program at Columbia and also works with NewAssignment.Net, a project dedicated to spur innovation in journalism. I am active in various online communities and social news sites, such as Digg and BrooWaha.
I believe very strongly in the 'wisdom of the crowds' and that NewsTrust is tapping into that power in order to get a better sense of news content. I hope together we can make NewsTrust an exciting and fulfilling place to engage in.

Jeff wrote an interesting blog post today in reaction to this article. I was actually called and interviewed for this article - although not quoted. So I know it was a well researched and thought-out piece. Overall I thought it was fair of the subject matter - but also still trying to create a new media/old media divide which I know Jeff isn't into.







I've been following the WikiLeaks thing for a bit now. I'm utterly fascinated. I have been offline the last few days and this article caught me up.
