I believe the facts as stated in this article, but for those of us unable to take advantage of Medicare Advantage, I am not sure that this is a cut in Medicare benefits. In my area of South Carolina, I was told by my doctor not to take Medicare Advantage because almost no one in the area participates in it. I have traditional Medicare and I have no real complaints about it (except Part D, which is a program of limited benefits that resulted when George Bush caved in to the drug industry and stacked the deck against the recipients.)

July 4 no picnic after deportation: Bi-national gay couple vow to stay together after battling HIV, Hurricane Katrina
The Washington Blade has been around for years; its stories are usually well-researched and factual. I believe that this article points out yet another tragic decision by the US government (and the supposedly liberal Bill Clinton, who appears to be as homophobic as George Bush). I ususally judge good journalism by my gut--and my gut tells me this story is unfortunately true.
Brings to mind Woodward and Bernstein. It is journalism at its finest, to my way of thinking. And it certainly gives question as to who the real president of the US is. I only wonder why Bush has been as lame as he has, and brought Cheney under control.
It is good journalism because it checked with the source of the story and rebuts the points made by the author. I think it would be clearer exactly what is being said here if I had been able to read the initial story, and be better able to speak to the "good journalism" of this story.
It is fairly good journalism--it identifis the issue and dissects it, asking why is a gay kiss any different than a straight one. But the issue to me was more of the reaction to the kiss. Why did the advertiser thaink that was a justified reaction to the kiss? Why did Snickers choose that ending? Why did a candy maker use the uidea at all?
It would be easy to show editorial bias in an article like this, but none seemed apparent. I feel the author told the facts, did the research, and came to the conclusions in the article because he did his job.
