Christine Tracy
Member (since November 2007)Christine M. Tracy is a rhetorician, media ecologist, and communications scholar. She teaches journalism as an associate professor in EMU’s English Department. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Rhetoric from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., where she was a founding editor of Computer-Mediated Communication, one of the Web’s first e-zines. Her "The Newsphere: Understanding The News and Information Environment" (Peter Lang 2013) combats disillusionment with the news environment. She is currently resarching new forms of news and new ways to consume news. She lives in Ann Arbor, MI.

It made me see the situation in a new way and had a great deal of relevant historical context. I especially appreciated the list of reporters who were fired for voicing controversial opinions.
This is an important topic. I believe we need more historical context for stories, and this story is an example of that.
Excellent journalism. I'm impressed with the path and the work spent on verifying the accuracy of the story.





There is still so much I personally don't know about what happened. I feel like many of these stories are just the tip of the iceberg.
