What the media fail to report about the Obama candidacy is the perception of "blackness" as it applies to political viability and support from the historical "black" religious establishment. This is an eye-opener and an enjoyable read, being well written.

This is an editorial that broaches the subject of energetic and idealistic political support with a twist or two. I found it a fresh point of view.

A lightweight review of the USA torture policy that should certainly label Mr. Bush the TORTURE PRESIDENT as his legacy. This is more of an editorial than new reporting.

a tongue in cheek review of political problems resulting from the melting of the north polar ice cap. The rush is already on to claim and control the legendary Northwest Passage. Great illustrative material.

This is a depressing report on the decimation of Iraq's archeological history. We all knew that museums were raided and art treasures stolen in volume following the Bush invasion, but the oganized rip-off of Iraq's heritage continues full force, much of it seeminly bound to US profiteers. The style of the article is even and non-intrusive - the story speaks for itself.

The story that keeps popping up for this topic is on the planting of trees by eco-yuppies so they can feel good about driving SUVs. It is well written, balanced, and informative. I have no idea what the Bush team double pronging on Iran article is about because it will not appear.

A well written presentation of the myth and workings of Chavez - is he a champion of the people or a despot in the making? This review of the cancellation of a prominent, Chavez-hostile TV station gives a good overview.

This is a glib review about a more glib author, the brilliant master of stage drama Tennessee Williams. Quoting a small portion of the playwrite's memoirs, the author inter-connects and weaves with his description as if he were part of the original. Definitely good review and informative.

This is the second critique of the Broad article in the NY Times that I read tonight and definitely the better for its prose and clarity. Why the NY Times should print such a propaganda artcle in the style of ExxonMobile now can not be guessed, but we should remember that these were the folks that shrieked "weapons of mass destruction" when the Bush team was just proclaiming them.

This is a review of a clever and tight ecological study based upon lateral parameters. While most readers could care less about the larch budworm moth, this delightful study does reveal a recent historical disruption in population attributable to excess CO2 and/or its effects. Again, this is hypothesis by correlation.

If a picture is worth a thousand or a million words, you get eight of them here - all surreal to our earthly sequestration. In the age of neocon necromancy and universal vituperation, you derive goosebumpling awe from these seeming line drawings from the 1920s that are photographic reality, hard to interpret emotionally due to the scale. Most positive thing I have seen online in months - this is where we excel as a species!

The story is brief and dry, but the issue is important. Any two scientists measuring the number of E. coli angels that fit on the point of a needle covered with a 2 mm film of Armour Star Lard will likely disagree within a 5% error reading. So it goes with the now popularly correct notion that excess CO2 in the atmosphere is responsible for the warming of our planet. Disagreement is at the base of science until something or another is proven and this bland article gives an alternate hypothesis which is worthy of note, if only that. Who knows? All of global warming theory is correlation.

This is a re-hashing editorial on the old concept of taxing the use of carbon for energy production. While the concept remains more viable than ever, considering foot and car dragging around the world, Ms. Applebaum adds no new dimension or information to the subject. Nicely written - her style lulls you along with interest.

An almost typical Huffington post, only lacking in her usual low-key sarcasm - the reported exchange is ironic enough and is a peek into a character that seems to be changing with every month - one that wants to replace Bush as the DECIDER.

ANOTHER EXHAUSTIVE REPORT BY THE SOUTHERN POVERTY LAW CENTER, scary in its detail. The several hundred I have read are always well sourced and thorougly researched, even if references are not given - more of an overview than an article. Usually, the SPLC reports on beer belly pseudo-Christian/Nazi thug groups that beat and maim and kill people without lily-white skins. This is a group on "hate" scene reporting that is numbing to read about.

The length of this article is offset by the author's glib style, both humorous and horrific. This allows for more depth than is usually alloted to CAFO pollution. Although the article is not specifically sourced, the subject is well documented in myriad previous reports. It is more of an overview, a form at which Rolling Stone excels. This is a topic of great importance for Americans who read and almost everyone else, since the CAFO waste problem goes so un-noticed and under-reported. Its environmental damage is severe unto the newly forming dead zones off our coasts.

Wow golly gee - who among us that contemplates death as the result of life would not find this topic to be among the most vital, entertained throughout human history by philosophy and Theology? Good job Mr. Hunter at this remarkably readible scientific review, beautifully coreographed and almost completely accessible to the layreader. Physiological anthropologists place the "wild animal" life span of cave humans at 25 for males and 32 for females - that is all we are good for physically. The article does not broach the morality of the extended life span we have evolved towards in the last many centuries, but it should be noted that behind every life extended "Einstein" or "Bach" is a likely lurking "Hitler" or "Cheney".
