I was born in Maine, grew up in Massachusetts, went to school in Ohio and worked in New York for many years before settling down in Connecticut. In New York, I worked as an IT Executive on Wall Street. In 2003, I became very active in Gov. Dean's presidential bid and worked with many groups on the state and national level. When Gov. Dean ended his bid, my wife decided to run for State Representative. She was one of the first Dean Dozen candidates and I was her campaign manager. I received credentials from the Democratic Party to cover the National Convention as a blogger.

I'm very interested in blogging and journalistic credibility.

This article does not hit any issues of importance in the 2008 Presidential campaign. Instead it repeats 'on-the-bus' style reporting about a candidate being late for events. It does at least mention that other candidates are often late, yet it paints it as a big issue for one particular candidate. Having worked on campaigns and been married to a campaign scheduler, I understand how many candidates are frequently late and how that has no relevance.

This is a particularly interesting story in that it explores whether or not a front page article in the New York Times counts as good journalism.

This is an extremely unfair article based on a lot of unfounded assumptions and promoting false views about politics in America. I, like others, have written extensively about why this such a poor article at sites like DailyKos, MyDD, Huffington post and others.

The brief article rightly points out significant problems with an Op-Ed in the Washington Times, but fails to provide much for context, new information, or much of anything else making it worth reading.

The article takes an important look back at the coverage of the 'Mission Accomplished' speech of George Bush. It focuses on how one paper covered the story, and might have been better for a broader analysis. Nonetheless, it it great to see this backwards glance.

This could be a big important story, or it might be unimportant. How do we know? Well, if there was more information about The Office of Special Counsel, or about the head of the office, we might be able to tell. Yet the story doesn't provide details about the Bush appointee running the investigation.

While it seems to be an example of the baseline for good political journalism, given the rest of the horse race coverage out there, this article exceeds most of the other stories.
